Refurbished Home Lift

Refurbished Home Lift

When a home lift is no longer required we carefully remove it and bring it back to our second hand lift storage facility. The lifts are wrapped in plastic shrink wrap and stored until they are resold. A refurbished home lift is a lift which has been through the factory, cleaned, checked, tested and parts that wear over time replaced

When we receive an order for a refurbished home lift we then review the stock and identify the one that is the most suitable.

The home lift is then brought into our manufacturing plant, disassembled, each part is taken back to where it was made, cleaned and then checked.

Testing and Certification of Key Components

The hydraulic ram that drives the home lift is put onto our ram test rig where it is checked as though it was new going out for the first time. It then receives a new test certificate to prove that it has passed.

The pump that drives the hydraulic ram is also put on to our test rig. The oil is drained and replaced with new. The pump is then put through the same tests as a new pump and a new test certificate issued on successful testing.

The electrical boards that control the lift are again checked as though they were new and replaced if not up to standard.

Parts that are known to wear out over a long period of time such as the trailing cables (the wires that connect the lift to the electrical control boards) are replaced. The hoses that connect the hydraulic ram to the pump are also replaced.

New Wireless Call Stations

Normally, when a refurbished lift is reinstalled, white box trunking is used to enclose the wires that connect the buttons which call the lift up and down (these are called Call Stations).

On all refurbished home lifts, we replace the original hard wired call stations, with wireless call stations. This removes the need for the trunking and you can then position the new call stations where they are most convenient to you.

When everything has been checked, refurbished or replaced the components of the refurbished homelift are packed as a new lift on to a pallet. The refurbished homelift is then wrapped in protective plastic sheet and stored in despatch ready to be put into one of our installation vehicles or for collection by an approved LEIA Lift installer.

Ready for Despatch

It takes a few weeks for a home lift to be refurbished in our production facility which gives you time to arrange for the preparatory work to be done so that your home is ready to receive it.

The thorough refurbishment process that the home lift goes through means that we can give a 6 months full manufacturer’s warranty with the option to extend for up to 3 years in full confidence that it will give years of trouble free service.

Call Customer Services on 0845 365 5366 to arrange for a no-commitment, free survey of where you need the lift so that we can provide you with a quotation.

I would like to know the price of a refurbished low rise wheelchair lift for use in a home in Edinburgh. (Do you have a base in Scotland? )
The difference in floor level is about 60cm.
A vertical step lift, if it can take a w/c, looks like it would be suitable.
How much floor space should I allow for it?

I have a Terry through-floor lift installed in my house that was supplied and fitted by your company.
It has had very little use as sadly my wife (the disabled person) passed away in July 2013.
The lift has been maintained by your company on a service agreement.
I am now about to have some conversion work carried out on my home, which means that the lift will need to be removed.
Would you be able to remove the lift and buy it back for resale?
